WA State STEM Scholarship Opportunity: Don’t Wait…

(opens in a new window) There is $3 million and 3,000 scholarships available through the Washington State Opportunity Scholarship (opens in a new window) (WSOS) for low- and medium-income students interested in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) fields.

Students, are encouraged to apply. Scholarship organizers expected 10,000 students to apply. But 10 days out from the deadline, fewer than 2,000 have applied.

The application period is March 1 through April 16, 2012.  High school seniors through college seniors who plan to attend colleges and universities in Washington State for the entire 2012-13 academic year are eligible to apply.

The WSOS application is very simple – no essay required, no letters of recommendation. WSOS is open to both high school seniors and current college students.
